(24-36" tall x 24-30" wide) White-flowered Lavandula x intermedia 'Edelweiss' (French Hybrid Lavender) a mid-sized cultivar with flower buds that start out pale pink, opening to snowy white. Edelweiss boasts a profuse summer display of white, perfumed flowers over silvery foliage. For best results, grow in well-drained soil in full sun. Cut back the flower stalks after they have finished blooming. Prune back plants in early spring, if needed.
Known for humidity and clay soil Maryland is not the ideal climate for lavender, however it can be grown successfully. Lavender requires harvesting to care for the plant. Lavender can be grown in a container or in the ground. X-Intermedia lavender is larger than other varieties and should be grown in 24” wide pots, in the ground allow a minimum of 2 feet on either side of your plant.
