A French lavender cultivar developed in the US. by it's third year your plant will grow to a large mature plant 36" wide and will continue to grow and become more dense. Light colored, spiked flower heads on graceful long stems, create a grass-like movement in the garden or field.
This variety is a wonderful culinary lavender, great for teas and baking.
Known for humidity and clay soil Maryland is not the ideal climate for lavender, however it can be grown successfully. Provence is prone to mold and should not be planted close to any neighboring plants. Lavender requires harvesting to care for the plant, flower stems should be cut off after they bloom. Lavender can be grown in a container or in the ground and requires full sun, lavender X-Intermedia is larger than other varieties and should be grown in 24” pots, in the ground allow a minimum of 2 feet on either side of your plant.
